CAMP
TIPS
Before you begin running your own Camp Alexandria, please read the important
points below. These are critical components to running a successful camp:
1. You or your child's caregiver must have the time, energy and willingness
to lead the camp. Camp Alexandria is not something you turn over to your
child and then tell them to "run with it."
2. Be sure that the time you allocate to be your child's camp leader is
as free from any distractions or interruptions as possible. While flexibility
is key, if you are not available for your child to participate in the events
scheduled on the camp calendar, your child will most likely lose interest
in the camp. Remember, your energy and intention as camp leader will rub
off on the campers!
3. Balance flexibility with staying on the camp schedule. It is important
to keep on track of whose turn it is to do what on the camp calendar.
4. Always encourage your child in their camp activities. If necessary, gently
remind them of the camp rules should they happen to forget.
